Hello Folks! Scott here unboxing the new Love From Lizi April 2020 Card Kit. Lizi is calling this kit “You Are” and it is full of lots of spring-time encouragement for us all!
Fortunately for us, Love From Lizi is a small company still able to continue creating these lovely card kits for all of us who are stuck at home during the shut-downs occurring across the country. Broadway theaters (and my theatre) shut down on March 12 and will probably be closed for many more weeks. Thankfully, I am able to work from home and still collect a paycheck, but when I think about the number of people who are out of work with no promise of re-employment, I get quite anxious. I wonder how many Broadway shows will be able to weather a month (or two) of closing down and not have to close for good…! A tenuous grasp we all have on reality at the moment – I am safe and healthy here, and pray that your friends and family are staying the same. Looks like we are all in this together, and together we shall prevail!
As is the norm, we get five sheets of 8.5″ x 11″ card stock in this month’s kit. We have a Mauve (purple), Super smooth, copic-friendly White, Black, Golden Yellow, and a Sky Blue. Lizi called that last one Mint but I don’t really see any green in it at all..!
This kit does arrive in a 12″ x 12″ box so that usually means some cut-apart sheets! Three 12″ x 12″ cut-aparts and one 12″ x 12″ sheet of stickers!
Our first sheet is 3″ x 4″ panels with lots of sentiments and a couple journaling cards. The cut-aparts are double-sided – the back of this sheet sports this colorful ‘pebble’ pattern.
The second sheet has 4″ x 4″ square cut apart panels with more encouraging words.
And the pattern on the back is this deep pink geometric.
Our third cut apart sheet has 2″ x 2″ panels with more sentiments and lots of images!
The back of this third sheet has a mustard color background with random white dots.
And finally, we get this 12″ x 12″ sheet of stickers – nice thick card stock stickers with gobs of images, sentiment strips, word banners and a fun cheetah spot scalloped border.
We are treated to the larger 6′ x 8″ pattern papers this month. 12 sheets of double-sided pattern papers – most with large images and icons on one side and smaller patterns on the reverse.
The reverse side of these six are –
Mostly subtle, geographic patterns and there’s that cheetah spot pattern again!
The next six sheets have some smaller, vibrant patterns and two 3″ x 4″ cut apart sheets. Perfect size for the front of an A2 card!
The back of those six sheets has some more colorful patterns, that great text sheet, black and green gingham and smaller patterns that match the big cut apart sheets. I love the larger pattern paper format… it gives us a few more options…!
Our peel offs this month are a new color – Jade Glitter Pin peel offs – REALLY sparkly and a great color! And our 6″ x 4″ stamp set is all about really big sentiments! These are the largest sentiment stamps I’ve ever received in a LFL kit, and I can’t wait to put them to use! That will bring us to our Embellishment bag…!! WOO-HOO!
We get more 1/4″ satin ribbons this month! A meter length each of Teal, Pink, Yellow, Black and White. We get two mini white envelopes, and our sequin mix includes Teal, Pink, Gold, Oyster, and Peach sequins in a variety of sizes. We get five wooden buttons and five mini-clothespins, a bottle of Nuvo Shimmer Powder in Sunray Crossette (I have no idea what that means!) a sheet of self-stick pearls and flower gems that are strung together but can be cut apart, and two dies – a fairly simple butterfly and a multi-part bicycle die – the frame, the pedal and chain, the wheels, and a basket. AND…
EPHEMERA! A great big batch of ephemera! Lots of images and sentiments, flowers and plants, notebooks and banners, and some of the pieces feature gold foiling. I know LOTS of folks love these ephemera packs and this batch is sure to please you!
I did get a couple of add-ons this month, including the four-sheet peel off pack.
The peel off pack includes a NEW color: Pink Holographic Pin peel offs, and the Teal Mirror Sway, the Gold Moondust Pin, and the new White Iridescent Clear Glitter Straight peel offs – Love those new colors and that Pink Holographic hardly seems pink at all! I also received the Foam Sentiment Sticker add-ons that are all gold foiled, self-stick and nicely thick sentiments – some of these would make a card all by themselves!!
